Each week during the season (regular and post),
there will be a fan-generated contest to tab
weekly winners. Each winner receives a letter and
award patch for their varsity jacket.
How does it
work? Nominees are selected from
statistics submitted on MaxPreps. Coaches who do not have current access may
request their free account here.
Weekly finalists are released on MaxPreps every
Tuesday and voting is conducted in a special poll.
Voting ceases at noon on Mondays. The winners are announced the next day
along with the next week's nominees.
Participants may vote as many
times as they want. It's a competition.
This past week, over 243,000 votes were cast. So far
this school year over 8.2-million votes have been
cast.

126-pounds. Beat the state’s No. 1 ranked wrestler and defending state
champion 4-3 in the semifinals.
* Cole Solomey, Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield)
WrestlingSenior finished the season 48-1 and became
his school’s first wrestling state champion with an 11-2 decision in the
138-pound title. He is a four-time state placer, who was runner-up at
138 last year.
* Braxton McCory, Medora Boys
BasketballSenior hit nine 3-pointers en route to 27
points, six rebounds and four assists in a 68-33 win over Cannelton.
Also had 13 points and three assists in a 59-53 win over Columbus

each game.

struck out 17, allowed two hits and walked one in a 6-1 win over
Cloverdale.

SoftballFreshman struck out 17 and 13 in wins over
Greencastle (8-1) and Riverton Parke (10-7). Also went 8-for-14 at the
plate with 13 RBI, five runs, three doubles, a triple and home run in
those wins and wins over Cloverdale (19-1) and North Vermillion (27-2).
Batting .484 with 16 RBI, 11 runs and nine doubles.

SoftballJunior went 5-0 on the mound last week and
struck out 13, 10, 11, 10 and 10, respectively, in wins over Twin Lakes
(7-2), Tri-Central (14-9), Carroll (1-0), Benton Central (6-3) and
Tri-County (14-10). Also went 10-for-19 with nine RBI, three doubles and
three runs in the wins. Has 107 Ks this season.
* Kylee Edwards, Shelbyville
SoftballSenior hit home runs in three straight
games, including two in an 8-7 win over Yorktown and three in an 11-0
win over Connersville. Batting .568 with 18 runs, 17 RBI and 10 home
runs.

runs and six doubles.

BaseballSenior struck out 17 of the 24 batters he
faced in a 3-0 no-hit win over Attica. Has a 2.00 ERA and 47 Ks in 21
innings.

BaseballJunior struck out 16 of the 22 batters he
faced and allowed one hit in a 2-1 win over Columbus Christian. Followed
that up by striking out 11 of the 22 batters he faced in a 20-3 win
over Crothersville. Has 47 Ks in 29 innings.

in an 8-6 loss to Mishawaka.
* Jaiden Cantrell, Corydon Central
SoftballJunior went 4-for-4 with six RBI, three home
runs and three runs in a 14-10 win over Salem. Also went 2-for-4 with
five RBI, a home run, double and a run in a 9-7 win over Bedford North
Lawrence. Batting .433 with 27 RBI and 10 doubles. As a pitcher she is
5-0 with a 2.48 ERA and 97 Ks.
