Amador and Bret Harte are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Buffaloes will square off against the Bullfrogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Amador is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Le Grand as they made off with a 12-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Buffaloes considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Brad Blankenheim and Johnny Melton did most of the damage at the plate: Blankenheim went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Melton went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Amador is undefeated when Blankenheim posts one or more home runs, but 10-13-1 otherwise. Vincent Lee was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Amador always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bret Harte never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They came out on top against Argonaut by a score of 3-0. The Bullfrogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
The result came thanks to Jack Trent's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bret Harte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Lenard, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Amador's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Bret Harte, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Amador has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bret Harte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Amador came up short against Bret Harte in their previous matchup back in April, falling 6-3. Can the Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
