The Poway Titans will venture away from home to take on the Westview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poway is coming into the game hot, having won their last 13 games.
On Friday, Poway was able to grind out a solid victory over Vista, taking the game 8-5.
Davis Rodriguez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Digenan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Miles Wisdom, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Ramona on Friday as they made off with an 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Charles Jaskowiak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Jaskowiak was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Westview let Dylan Morici and Nico Sidiropoulos run wild. Morici went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Sidiropoulos got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Morici a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Kuy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Westview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ramona only posted a batting average of .231.
Poway's record now sits at 18-9. As for Westview, their record is now 22-5.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Poway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Westview struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Poway skirted past Westview 5-4 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
