Two dominant guards in La ne Dunn and Sammy Lang are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sacramento Dragons will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Escalon Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Sacramento will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 571st, while Escalon is ranked 163rd).
Sacramento struggled with assists on Friday (El Camino had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Sacramento took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Camino.
Despite the defeat, Sacramento had strong showings from Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, and Ariyah Garrison, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Dunn has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of E'Myiah Morris, who scored six points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Escalon gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Hilmar, posting a 61-23 victory on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Escalon who now have five in a row.
Sacramento's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Escalon, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2.
