Gridley is 8-2 against Lassen since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will take on the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Gridley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Thursday, Gridley made easy work of Oroville and carried off a 14-1 win.

Garrett Francis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eli Punzo was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Branson Busch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Lassen had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Central Valley on Tuesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Gridley, Lassen also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaxon George. On the mound, he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, George posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Garate, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Gridley pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lassen, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.
Gridley couldn't quite finish off Lassen when the teams last played back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
