The Ramona Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Sage Creek Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. Ramona is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Ramona took a serious blow against Vista, falling 69-28. While losing is never fun, Ramona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1125th, while Vista is ranked 69th).
Despite the defeat, Ramona had strong showings from Makenzy Ahlgren, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds, and Camile Gilbreth, who scored 4 points. Ahlgren scored a full 46.4% of Ramona's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Sage Creek waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Mt. Carmel as Sage Creek made off with a 63-38 victory.
Their wins bumped Ramona to 1-9 and Vista to 10-0.
Ramona came out on top in a nail-biter against Sage Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 40-37. Will Ramona repeat their success, or does Sage Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
