The Faith Christian Academy Lions were the 51-30 winner over the Collegium Charter Cougar when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Faith Christian Academy took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Collegium Charter on Thursday. Faith Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Collegium Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kori Beasley out in front who scored ten points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Beasley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciani Hamilton, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Faith Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Collegium Charter, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian Academy will square off against MAST Community Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Collegium Charter on the road again on Monday and play against Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on January 22nd. Bristol has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
