The result came thanks to Luke Madigan's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, River Ridge/Scales Mound was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Morrison by a score of 11-6.
Sam Rife was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Kaden Duerr was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
River Ridge/Scales Mound's victory bumped their record up to 5-19. As for Lena-Winslow, their win bumped their record up to 22-2.
Lena-Winslow's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for River Ridge/Scales Mound, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lena-Winslow continue to outrun the ball?
