The Guajome Park Academy Frogs will head out on the road to face off against the Rock Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Guajome Park Academy has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Guajome Park Academy managed to slip by Army-Navy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Frogs lost 11-0 to the Warriors on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Frogs have suffered against the Warriors since April 21, 2021.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Academy). They walked away with a 23-19 victory over Pacific Ridge on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Max Gimbel made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off eight hits. Gimbel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Rock Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Rock Academy got a massive performance out of Quentin Uhland, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Uhland has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Olson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Rock Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Guajome Park Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Rock Academy, their record now sits at 12-3.
Guajome Park Academy suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to Rock Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Frogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
