The Platteview Trojans waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over Duchesne. This was payback for Platteview, who suffered a 38-24 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Duchesne still got an impressive performance from June Mullen, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Payton Ward, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Platteview pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Duchesne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
Platteview's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Ralston is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Duchesne, they will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
