Even though Gulf has not done well against the Gators recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Gulf walked away with a 56-49 win over the Gators.
Jaydn Wood was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. William Ruffin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Nature Coast Tech, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-26 loss to the Tigers on Thursday. Nature Coast Tech has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gulf's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Nature Coast Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
