It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Encinal had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 67-36 win over the Argonaut Mustangs. The Jets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Jazzy Alcantar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Brooklynn Lacy was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.
Encinal was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Argonaut only eight assists.
When it comes to explaining why Argonaut lost, don't look at Alayna Critchfield. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Critchfield is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brynn Begovich, who posted ten points.
Encinal is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. Argonaut's defeat dropped their record down to 19-13.
Coming up, Encinal will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Orland at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Encinal has won eight straight at home, while Orland won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Argonaut does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
