This season hasn't been kind to the Blair Vikings, who are still winless after their sixth game. They suffered a rough 48-24 loss at the hands of Azusa on Friday. The game was a close 17-15 at the break, but unfortunately for Blair it sure didn't stay that way.
Ruby Untoria was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals for Azusa. That makes it two consecutive games in which Untoria has scored at least 25% of Azusa's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Maldonado, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Blair's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Azusa, they have yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blair will take on Pomona Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Azusa, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Baldwin Park at 5:00 p.m. Baldwin Park comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
