Baseball Recap: Dunlap's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of nine wins, Dunlap's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the East Peoria Raiders by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jackson Newton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Dunlap's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for East Peoria, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

While Dunlap had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
