The Pittsburg Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Antioch. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ali Tautolo, who scored 17 points along with six steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Miller, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Pittsburg's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Antioch, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will stay at home for another game and welcome Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Deer Valley has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Antioch, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Antioch likes a good challenge.
