The Mission Oak Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Paso Robles Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mission Oak has four straight victories, Paso Robles has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Dinuba typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Mission Oak proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 victory over the Emperors. Given Mission Oak's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Dinuba is ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Isabella Zepeda, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Serpa, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Paso Robles came up short against Mission College Prep on Friday and fell 58-48. Paso Robles has struggled against Mission College Prep recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Mission Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Paso Robles, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10.
Mission Oak beat Paso Robles 53-43 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Mission Oak repeat their success, or does Paso Robles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
