Golden took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Green Mountain 14-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Demons considering their two-run performance the game before.

Adrianna Riddle was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in August.
In other batting news, Katie Welte was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run. Lucca Merz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Golden hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Wheat Ridge's offense. They came up short against D'Evelyn on Saturday, falling 16-0. The loss continues a trend for the Farmers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.
Golden pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wheat Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1.
Golden took their win against Wheat Ridge in their previous meeting on September 11th by a conclusive 18-2 score. Do the Demons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Farmers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
