High Plains is 0-10 against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The pair will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. High Plains is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
High Plains proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 30) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Osceola 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory High Plains has posted since January 22nd.
High Plains got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Courtney Carlstrom out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Peyton Hofmann was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 47-29 to Meridian. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Bruning-Davenport/Shickley couldn't quite close it out.
High Plains has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
High Plains came up short against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 44-32. Can High Plains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
