Santa Fe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Collins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Collins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Rivera, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Santa Fe has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for California, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will face off against Whittier Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for California, they will head out on the road to square off against La Serna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Serna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 634th, while California is ranked 275th).
