Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Elbert County is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy will welcome the Elbert County Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
While Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Oglethorpe County on Friday.
Owen Forsythe made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cole Bullock was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colt Clark, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Elbert County won against Athens Academy on Saturday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Elbert County beat Athens Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-2. Considering the Blue Devils have won five games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, Elbert County also got a great game from a two-way player: Sam Amabile. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Amabile a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jose Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Brayden Ingram was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Elbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. Elbert County's victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elbert County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Elbert County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
