The Screven County Gamecocks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Metter. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Screven County of the 51-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Screven County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kashard Prescott, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Beckwith, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Screven County's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Metter, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Screven County will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Screven County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Metter, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Southeast Bulloch at 6:30 p.m.
