Georgia High School Basketball - Metter nips Screven County

February 2, 2024: Metter, GA 30439

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Metter Tigers (Metter, GA) and the visiting Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA), saw Metter's basketball squad hold off Screven County by a tally of 59-54.

With the victory, Metter improves its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA) to play the Yellow Jackets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 11-10. Southeast Bulloch lost 65-62 in their recent league challenge against Burke County (Waynesboro, GA)

Next up, the Gamecocks play the Jefferson County Warriors (Louisville, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 3. Screven County will attempt to improve on its 3-17 season record.
