In what's become a running theme this season, the Mendota Aztecs gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Firebaugh 49-20 at home. The victory was nothing new for Mendota as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Mendota's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jilari Sandoval led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Bethany Oliva, who scored 14 points.
Mendota is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Firebaugh, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Mendota will head out on the road to challenge Tranquillity at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Firebaugh, they will be playing at home against Dos Palos at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Dos Palos is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
