The Gunn Titans will be home for the holidays to greet the Harbor Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Gunn is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Monday, Gunn was the victim of a tough 42-22 loss at the hands of Prospect. While losing is never fun, Gunn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1164th, while Prospect is ranked 332nd).
Meanwhile, Harbor scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 57-17 victory over KIPP San Jose Collegiate. That looming 57-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Harbor yet this season.
Harbor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samantha Herrera led the charge by scoring 16 points. That's the first time this season that Herrera scored 15 or more points. Malalai Etamadi was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Gunn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Harbor, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
