First Flight is 9-1 against the Bruins since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The First Flight Nighthawks will head out on the road to square off against the Camden County Bruins at 7:30 p.m. First Flight will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, First Flight took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 76-28 victory over the Redskins. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-21.
Judah Carlysle and Ethan Crowe were among the main playmakers for First Flight as the former went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists and the latter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crowe has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brody Woods, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Camden County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Currituck County at home and fell 73-42.
First Flight pushed their record up to 10-9 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Camden County, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Everything came up roses for First Flight against the Bruins when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 82-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Flight since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
