The White Plains Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 59-29 defeat at the hands of Jacksonville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat White Plains has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Deasia Prothro was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ontarriah Braxton, who scored seven points along with five steals.
White Plains bumped their record down to 8-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Jacksonville, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. White Plains won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cherokee County at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Cherokee County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than White Plains in Alabama (Cherokee County is ranked 70th, while White Plains is ranked 318th). Jacksonville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ashville at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Ashville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
