On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Buckley beat Chino 55-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Buckley.
Chino's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Manuel Alba, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Alba pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Yousef Ihmud, who scored 15 points.
Buckley's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Chino, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Buckley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holy Martyrs Armenian at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Chino will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bravo at 3:30 p.m. on December 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Dylan Nunez and Alba.
