CORE Butte came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Burney, but Aaliyah Perez wouldn't allow it. The Burney Raiders breezed by the CORE Butte Lynx to the tune of 57-18 on Tuesday thanks in part to Perez, who went 11 of 22 en route to 25 points and six steals. She is becoming a predictor of Burney's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 13-3 (and 2-3 when she doesn't).

Alexis Witzel was another key player, going 6 for 10 to rack up 18 points and eight boards. What's more, she also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023.

CORE Butte's loss came despite strong showings from Lali Gonzalez and Brianna Hayes. Gonzalez posted seven points, while Hayes put up five points.

Burney's record is now 15-6. As for CORE Butte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Burney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-38 win against Chester on the 31st. As for CORE Butte, they have also already played their next game, a 52-28 victory against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 29th.
