Baseball Recap: Franklin Starts Season with Victory Against Whitney

Franklin had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Whitney. For Franklin, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win Whitney walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Jason Harris was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Royal McKinney, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Franklin will host Oak Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for Whitney, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
