The Minarets Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Laton Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Minarets came up short against Yosemite and fell 37-25. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minarets in their matchups with Yosemite: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Laton suffered a rough 53-28 loss at the hands of Kings Christian on Saturday. Laton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Laton saw an underclassman step up: Gabriella Alvarado scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Washington Union's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Minarets' loss dropped theirs to 0-1.
Minarets beat Laton 27-20 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Minarets repeat their success, or does Laton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
