Woodland is 0-10 against Dixon since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Woodland Wolves' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Dixon Rams at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Woodland came up short against Mesa Verde and fell 35-27.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Madilyn Watkins, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Hajab Shabbir was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Woodland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Dixon suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Pioneer, falling 49-16. Dixon has not had much luck with Pioneer recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Woodland dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.9 points per game. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
Woodland was dealt a bruising 54-18 loss at the hands of Dixon in their previous meeting on January 5th. Can Woodland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
