The Sheldon Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Franklin. While losing is never fun, Sheldon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while Franklin is ranked 227th).
Leading Franklin to victory were Aletha Singleton and Jasmine Clee. Singleton scored 17 points, while Clee scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tasiana Carr, who scored eight points.
Sheldon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 14-10 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheldon will take on Davis Sr. at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Alia Cordone and Charlize Miles. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
