Loara found their leader in underclassman Sophia Rangel, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Celine Tran, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Rancho Alamitos suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by La Quinta on the road and fell 54-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rancho Alamitos in their matchups with La Quinta: they've now lost three in a row.
Loara is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Rancho Alamitos, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Loara against Rancho Alamitos in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 58-25 win. With Loara ahead 33-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
