There's no place like home for Cuero, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They slipped by the Sinton Pirates  56-55 on Friday. The score was all tied up  28-28 at the break, but the Gobblers were the  better team in the second half.
  Jaxxon Marie was  his usual excellent self, throwing for 322 yards and seven  touchdowns, while also rushing for 100 yards and one  score. Those  seven  passing touchdowns gave  him a new career-high.  Chris Mathis did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 44 receiving yards.
 Despite the loss, Sinton still got an impressive performance from   Mykha Green, who rushed for 269 yards and six  TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Green is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing yards: he's   rushed for at least 215 every time he's  taken the field this season. Sinton also got help from  Sean Hughes, who showed off his sure hands for 92  receiving yards.
Cuero pushed their record up to 7-1 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Sinton, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 6-1.
 Coincidentally, Cuero and Sinton will both be playing Ingleside the next time they take the field. The Pirates will  host the Mustangs at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday, while the Gobblers will head out to face them  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 31st.
