Soccer Recap: Ames Triumphs

Ames proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by four) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hoover Huskies 2-1. The result kept Ames happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 19th.

Ames has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five contests. As for Hoover, they dropped their record down to 1-8-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Ames wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Norwalk on the 3rd. As for Hoover, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Roland-Story on the 2nd.
