The Berwick Bulldogs will stay at home for another game and welcome the Dallas Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Thursday, Berwick ended up a good deal behind Central Columbia and lost 45-27. While losing is never fun, Berwick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Central Columbia is ranked 45th).
Defeat or not, Berwick got some senior leadership from Gabby Starr who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds and RaeAnna Andreas who scored 11 points. Starr scored a full 48.1% of Berwick's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Berwick struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Dallas came up short against Holy Redeemer last Saturday and fell 52-42.
Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dallas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Berwick came up short against Dallas in their previous matchup back in January, falling 48-35. Can Berwick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
