Softball Game Preview: Wapello Indians vs. Pekin Panthers

Wapello is a perfect 10-0 against Pekin since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Wapello's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Pekin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Wapello came up short against Louisa-Muscatine and fell 9-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to Mediapolis. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Wapello's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Pekin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Wapello was able to grind out a solid win over Pekin when the teams last played on June 6th, winning 4-1. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
