It was a good run, but the Manheim Central Barons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Dauphin. While losing is never fun, Manheim Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Central Dauphin is ranked 60th).
Central Dauphin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Ferguson led the charge by scoring four points along with four steals. Ferguson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Syncere Matthews, who scored six points.
Manheim Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Central Dauphin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manheim Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Garden Spot at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Garden Spot comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Central Dauphin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Manheim Township at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Manheim Township will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
