After a string of four wins, the Marshall Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Glendora on the road and fell 59-25. Marshall was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.
Marshall's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Destiny Ihiaso, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Ihiaso hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Degooyer, who scored 6 points.
Marshall struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Glendora racked up 16.
Leading Glendora to victory were Brianna Gomez and Rylie Anderson. Gomez scored 20 points, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 steals. The match was Gomez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Martin, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Glendora, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Marshall is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Covina at 3:30 p.m. on December 6th. Covina is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Glendora, they will head out on the road to face off against Walnut at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walnut will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Glendora is ranked 44th).
