Mt. Vernon had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They never let the Northeast Rebels get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 22-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next game, a 4-1 defeat against Linn-Mar on the 27th. Northeast has also already played their next contest (against Camanche), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
