The Aquinas Falcons can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 58-14 win over Arrowhead Christian on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-5.
Breanna Bates was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. She hasn't dropped below 17 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Madeleine De Kodia, who scored 15 points along with five assists and four steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keira Caparas, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Caparas has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Arrowhead Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Aquinas racked up 14 assists.
Aquinas is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Arrowhead Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Aquinas will be playing in front of their home fans against Ontario Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ontario Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matches -- so hopefully Aquinas likes a good challenge. As for Arrowhead Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Loma Linda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loma Linda Academy's defense has only allowed 20.8 points per game this season, so Arrowhead Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
