Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Menlo-Atherton

Menlo-Atherton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators as they made off with a 9-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Wednesday.

Wes Peterson tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since March 1st.

At the plate, Merrick Lee was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Menlo-Atherton's record now sits at 9-4. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Menlo-Atherton will head out to face off against Carlmont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they will venture away from home to square off against Menlo School at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
