The Lathrop Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Beyer 63-48. Given Lathrop's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Patriots are ranked 933rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marianna Delgado, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatiana Lowery, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Lathrop's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-8. As for Beyer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
Lathrop will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Beyer, they will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Grace Davis and six for the Patriots.
