Citrus Hill is 0-3 against Liberty since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Citrus Hill Hawks' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Liberty Bison at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
Last Thursday, Citrus Hill was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Perris. Citrus Hill has struggled against Perris recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Liberty posted their biggest victory since November 17, 2023 on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 41-14 win over West Valley at home.
Liberty can attribute much of their success to Kelli Harris-Wellman, who scored nine points along with 18 rebounds and four steals. Alex Barajas was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five steals.
Citrus Hill's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12. As for Liberty, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Things could have been worse for Citrus Hill, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-34 loss to Liberty in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Barajas, who scored 22 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.
