Make it ten blowout wins for the Perkiomen Valley Vikings this season. They blew past Upper Merion Area 65-22 on the road on Thursday. The win was nothing new for Perkiomen Valley as they're now sitting on six straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perkiomen Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinn Boettinger, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Galbavy, who scored 13 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Upper Merion Area saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Coles scored ten points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Upper Merion Area struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Perkiomen Valley pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Perkiomen Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Upper Merion Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perkiomen Valley will take on the Patriots at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Archbishop Carroll is ranked 34th, while the Vikings are ranked 11th). As for Upper Merion Area, they will be playing at home against the Indians at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
