Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens

The Coronado Islanders will square off against the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon Crest Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coronado, who comes in off a win.

Canyon Crest Academy is hoping to do what Monte Vista couldn't last Tuesday: put an end to Coronado's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Coronado enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over Monte Vista.

Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabby Fichter, who posted 12 points and three blocks. Fichter is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Selena Herrera, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 67-28 loss at the hands of Mt. Carmel. The Ravens haven't had much luck with the Sundevils recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Canyon Crest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
