The Trinity Classical Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Terrace Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

John Carlson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Trinity Classical Academy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Backes, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Chino typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Grand Terrace proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Cowboys 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since March 21st.
Grand Terrace also got a great performance from Colton Caldwell as he struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Caldwell also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Titans are 8-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Palos, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024. Jesse Medina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Trinity Classical Academy's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Grand Terrace, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Classical Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grand Terrace struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
