Sherman Oaks CES's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Neriah Adjei, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Briones, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Vaughn, who are still winless after their seventh game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-31 walloping at the hands of Van Nuys on Saturday. Vaughn was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.
The losing side was boosted by Andrea Cervantes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. She scored a full 48.4% of Vaughn's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Yamileth Ferreira, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals.
Sherman Oaks CES's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Vaughn, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-6 record last season and are now at 0-7.
