The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves will challenge the Shalhevet Firehawks at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Wiseburn- Da Vinci turned things around against Environmental Charter on Saturday. They never let the White Tigers get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. Considering the Wolves have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jered Fan looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Edward Sanchez, who went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, four runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Barba, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five RBI and one run.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Shalhevet got the win against Animo City of Champions on Thursday by a conclusive 25-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firehawks.
Liam Putnam was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Putnam was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Shalhevet's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Yakov Liberman was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Shalhevet: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-11 otherwise. Ari Elad was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Shalhevet, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Everything went Wiseburn- Da Vinci's way against Shalhevet when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Wiseburn- Da Vinci made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Firehawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
