After a string of three wins, the Butte Valley Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 50-29 loss at the hands of Weed. Butte Valley has struggled against Weed recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Renaissance Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Weed, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. The game was Johnson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Annabelle McCarthy, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds.
Butte Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Weed, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Butte Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chester at 12:00 p.m. on December 14th. Weed will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. East Nicolaus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Weed is ranked tenth).
